New AI innovations for Zoom Workplace simplify and scale teamwork to cut through friction

Published March 10, 2026

As work becomes increasingly fragmented, employees often lose time and focus while navigating between disconnected tools instead of advancing meaningful work. Today, Zoom introduced new capabilities designed to bring greater flow and connection to the workday, including the expansion of AI Companion 3.0 across Zoom Workplace, UX simplification, and deepfake risk detection, bringing together automation, simplicity, and security in one intelligent experience. Together, these innovations reduce friction, enhance productivity, and help teams stay focused on what matters most.

“Zoom Workplace has transformed from a meeting platform to a system of action, where AI helps you plan, act, and collaborate seamlessly,” said Shawn Rolin, general manager for Zoom Workplace. “By integrating AI directly into the flow of work, we’re helping teams move faster, communicate more naturally, and stay focused on outcomes that drive their business forward.”

“Enterprises across industries are moving beyond basic communication tools toward intelligent platforms that drive measurable business outcomes,” said Craig Durr, chief analyst and founder of The Collab Collective. “By unifying conversations, data, workflows, and AI into a single system of action, Zoom is turning collaboration into execution. For organizations serious about competing in an AI-driven economy, that shift is no longer optional. It is the new baseline.”

The Zoom Workplace app will soon come with AI Companion 3.0.

Agentic AI that empowers every employee

Zoom Workplace helps combat modern work challenges like fragmentation and friction by bringing essential capabilities together into a single, connected experience that helps teams move seamlessly from communication to action.

  • The new AI Companion tab in Zoom Workplace: AI Companion 3.0 gives users a conversational work surface to gather insights and take action from their conversations, files, and business apps in one place. With AI engagement through the Side Panel more than doubling quarter over quarter, expanding access to AI Companion helps Zoom Workplace’s growing user base plan, summarize, and act on work more efficiently. (Expected by April 2026.)
  • AI Docs, AI Sheets, and AI Slides: Flexible AI-first canvases let users create, edit, and complete projects directly from their conversation context, turning discussions into finished deliverables with less effort. (Expected by Spring 2026.)

Users can soon leverage realistic and stylized avatars in Zoom Meetings.

Smarter, more inclusive collaboration

In today’s hybrid, global work environment, teams need intelligent capabilities that help them communicate naturally, present confidently, and collaborate across languages and formats. Zoom is introducing new experiences that make interactions more expressive, inclusive, and efficient:

  • Realistic and stylized avatars: Bring more authenticity and flexibility to meetings with lifelike or stylized avatars that mirror a user’s expressions and lip and eye movements, helping them engage confidently whether on or off camera. (Expected by March 2026.)
  • Present with avatars in Zoom Clips: Extend reach and impact with a custom AI avatar that seamlessly turns slide decks into engaging, multilingual presentation video clips that consistently and professionally deliver content. (Expected by March 2026.)
  • Voice translator: Enable seamless global collaboration with live audio translation in meetings, enabling participants to speak in their preferred language while others hear real-time translations for more inclusive communication. (Gradual rollout of beta version expected by March 2026 with limitations.)
  • Zoomie group assistant: With simple “@Zoomie” mentions or voice commands, teams can get answers, track action items, manage meeting tasks, and even adjust room settings, keeping collaboration effortless and work moving forward. (Expected by June 2026.)
  • New chat experience: AI surfaces key messages, summarizes threads, and highlights next steps while custom agents put chats into action to help prioritize what matters most to keep work moving. (Gradual rollout is expected to begin by April 2026.)
  • AI across Zoom Phone: New innovations extend AI Companion 3.0 for actionable call insights, add SMS support for Virtual Agent AI Receptionist, enhance Customer Engagement Pack with AI prioritization, and deliver enterprise‑grade voice for Microsoft Teams with Operator Connect. Simplification: Less friction, more flow

Zoom Workplace simplifies how people meet, message, and collaborate with a redesigned interface that reduces friction and unifies navigation so the work itself is the focus, not the tools that support it. New features include:

  • Better meetings, by design: A cleaner, more intuitive layout brings AI Companion controls, integrated transcription, and enhanced note‑taking into one place. Dynamic gallery view helps make the most use of a user’s screen real estate and reduces empty space, while Individual browser tab sharing lets users present confidently without exposing unrelated content. (Available now.)
  • Instant meeting assets: Easily find recordings, summaries, and assets for ad-hoc meetings in the Calendar tab. (Expected by April 2026.)
  • Unified navigation: A consistent navigation panel and simplified menus create a cohesive experience across desktop, mobile, and web, helping users move between tasks with less hunting around and fewer clicks. (Expected by March 2026.)
  • Modernized mobile and web experiences: Updated mobile and chat interfaces deliver consistent toolbars, refreshed icons, and streamlined compose boxes. A simplified web experience with smarter defaults and progressive rollout controls helps admins deploy updates faster and more efficiently. (Expected by March 2026.)

Zoom is enhancing meeting security with intelligent deepfake risk detection, providing real‑time alerts when synthetic audio or video is detected. A follow-the-user model helps protect sensitive discussions whether hosting a meeting or joining one hosted externally. (Expected by April 2026.)

Together, these innovations make work simpler, smarter, and more connected. With AI Companion woven into every surface, from planning and presenting to translating and collaborating, Zoom Workplace helps teams save time, communicate effectively, and stay focused on meaningful outcomes.
