Work smarter, create faster: Zoom AI Companion drives conversations to completion
Work today happens everywhere — in meetings, chats, emails, phone calls, and across countless apps. When information gets scattered, context is lost, decisions stall, and momentum fades.
Today, Zoom announced new AI innovations that advance its evolution into a system of action for modern work, where collaboration and context flow seamlessly into execution. Zoom AI Companion 3.0 gets expanded work surfaces and context, and users can create intelligent personal agents and workflows that act on a user’s behalf. Plus, AI canvases, such as AI Docs, AI Sheets, and AI Slides, give teams flexible spaces to capture ideas, collaborate in real time, and turn meeting insights into polished deliverables. Together, these advancements give customers a more connected way to work, helping teams streamline collaboration, reduce manual effort, and turn ideas into results faster.
AI Companion is at the core of these new ways of working. Instead of relying on separate AI solutions across different platforms, users can move faster from discussion to creation by using AI Companion as a central surface that can consolidate access to work data from conversations, files, and applications. Its growing adoption underscores this momentum as AI Companion Monthly Active Users more than tripled year over year in Q4 FY26, reflecting how teams are increasingly turning to Zoom’s AI capabilities to streamline workflows and accelerate outcomes.
“AI is evolving from being a tool we use to a teammate we rely on,” said Lijuan Qin, head of Product, AI at Zoom. “This shift is critical for the future of work; when AI understands your business context and can act on your behalf, teams make decisions faster, stay aligned on priorities, and move from ideas to impact with greater efficiency and confidence.”
A system of action for smarter work
AI Companion is the foundation of Zoom’s system of action, a connected environment where work conversations, content, and context come together to drive execution. AI Companion operates within this system to help users:
- Uncover: Gain insights from work interactions. Connect conversations, files, and apps with agentic AI that surfaces insights, so users can act on what matters most.
- Orchestrate: Reduce busywork by automating tasks, capturing decisions, and driving follow‑through with AI that keeps work moving seamlessly.
- Uplevel: Deliver better results by moving from ideas to outcomes faster with AI that helps teams create, refine, and deliver their best work.
Agents that act on a user’s behalf
AI Companion introduces intelligent agent and workflow builders that extend the system of action, helping teams automate tasks, connect data, and act with greater precision. These agents and workflows are designed to support business context, execute actions across tools, and company knowledge to deliver more personalized outcomes.
- Custom agents and workflows with templates: Build, customize, and manage agents or workflows with an intuitive builder and a library of ready‑made templates for teams like Sales, Marketing, or IT. Users can quickly tailor agents and workflows with knowledge and data sources, automating tasks such as updating CRMs or generating reports, so teams can focus on higher‑value work. (Expected by April 2026.)
- Task completion through workflows: Users can use AI Companion and select tailored workflows to complete post meeting deliverables, like drafting a post-meeting thank you note or inputting customer notes in Salesforce. These workflows can help users save time and drive outcomes from every conversation. (Expected by April 2026.)
- Connected and context‑aware: Through expanded intelligent data retrieval and third‑party connectors, users can access information across apps like ServiceNow, Box, Google Drive, and more, delivering context‑rich insights and actions that keep work moving with less manual effort. (Available now.)

AI Companion 3.0 will get expanded context from Zoom Phone, Zoom Chat, Zoom Revenue Accelerator, and third-parties.
Expanding access and intelligence
Teams often struggle to access consistent AI insights across fragmented tools. Zoom solves this by embedding intelligence into the flow of work.
- AI Companion 3.0 in Zoom Workplace: AI Companion 3.0 has expanded to Workvivo, Zoom Phone, and in the Zoom Workplace app, with a dedicated tab that brings a conversational interface for insights, workflows, and more. Whether on desktop or mobile, teams can stay in the flow of work without switching tools. (Expected by April 2026.)
- AI agents in Chat: Users will be able to mention their agents in chats to help get work done across teams. For example, a team could mention an agent that has specific knowledge on a topic or project in order to develop content related to that topic or project. (Expected by April 2026.)
- Personalization and Memory: AI Companion delivers more relevant, personalized support by learning from a user’s role, preferences, and feedback, adapting over time to provide smarter responses, tailored insights, and a work experience that feels uniquely theirs. (Expected by April 2026.)
- Zoom AI Services: Built on the same technology that powers millions of daily audio and video interactions, Zoom AI Services provide a new suite of enterprise‑grade AI APIs for speech, language, reasoning, and more. With options for cloud or on‑prem* deployment, developers can securely integrate transcription, translation, summarization, deep reasoning, and image‑processing technologies that power Zoom’s own products into their own applications. Scribe API is the first offering in this suite and delivers demonstrated transcription accuracy for recorded calls. Additional APIs coming soon. (*On-premises deployment is on the roadmap.)

AI Slides easily builds presentations for users in minutes.
Create faster, achieve more with AI-first productivity
Zoom is introducing a new generation of AI-first canvases that bring collaboration, context, and creation together in one place to help teams move from conversation insights to finished deliverables fast.
- AI Docs: Transform conversations and scattered information into structured, actionable knowledge by capturing meeting insights, notes, and data in one intelligent workspace, collaborating in real time, and surfacing relevant context to create deliverables faster and with greater clarity.
- AI Sheets: Convert conversations and raw data into meaningful spreadsheet form insights. AI helps automate data entry, cleanup, and analysis, allowing users to ask questions in plain language, generate formulas automatically, and extract structured data from meetings, so teams can focus on decisions, not spreadsheets.
- AI Slides: Turn meeting ideas into ready-to-present decks in minutes. With AI that builds, edits, and polishes slides, users can move seamlessly from discussion to presentation, complete with real-time collaboration, brand-consistent templates, and a presentation mode.
These new AI-first canvases are expected to be available as a preview in Spring 2026. To learn more, visit the Zoom website.
Aligned to Zoom’s position on responsible AI, AI Companion does not use customer content to train its models or third-party models and is available with eligible Zoom Workplace accounts or as a standalone offering, giving organizations a trusted, cost‑effective way to bring powerful AI into their daily workflows.
Together, these innovations bring Zoom’s vision of a true system of action to life, where conversations spark creation, data drives decisions, and AI Companion acts as a trusted teammate throughout the workday.
