Zoom Delivers Mission-Critical Phone Resiliency for Federal Agencies with Zoom Phone Local Survivability
Today, Zoom announced the general availability of Zoom Phone Local Survivability (ZPLS) for Zoom for Government (ZfG), bringing Zoom’s resilient cloud telephony continuity to U.S. federal agencies.
For agencies operating Cisco, Avaya, or Poly desk phones on legacy on-premises PBX systems, transitioning to cloud calling has often raised concerns about maintaining voice continuity during network or cloud disruptions. ZPLS addresses these challenges by extending core Zoom Phone services into agency-controlled environments while operating in conjunction with Zoom Phone in the cloud. This hybrid approach enables agencies to maintain local calling capabilities during service disruptions while supporting cloud modernization. ZPLS also integrates with existing telephony handsets and Microsoft Teams environments, helping agencies preserve existing infrastructure investments as they transition to a modern communications platform.

- FedRAMP-certified and government-ready: Built for federal security and data sovereignty requirements, with scalable architecture supporting up to 5,000 registered devices per module across agency sites.
